Morning at the Riverwalk

We spent a wonderful morning on the riverwalk in Batavia! It was beautiful!! The boys loved walking on all the bridges and look-outs and seeing the ducks. One bird even landed right next to us! It was so nice to just spend time as a family! I loved it!!

The sun is shining, the weather is hot, the boys are (mostly) healthy. It's time to splash and go swimming!! Hooray!! Our boys love being outdoors!!

Not Me! Monday

I did not bend the truth a little bit when our pediatrician asked whether Jonathan can fall asleep without nursing or whether he sleeps through the night! I did not tell her what I thought the right answer should be!

I did not take Baby J into bed with us this weekend. I most certainly did not do it just one day after telling the same pediatrician that Jonathan always sleeps in his crib! Nope, wasn't me! I always tell our peditrician the truth!

I did not take the big boys for Happy Meals last week, and I certainly did not take them twice in the same week!! Nope, that wasn't me!! I can always be found feeding our children only the very best, most nutritous stuff!

I did not cry like a baby when I realized a friendship with a great friend had fizzled out ended! It did not hurt like crazy to realize we don't have much in common these days. I will not miss her terribly!

I did not walk out of a grocery store when the lady refused to honor my coupon and give me the price difference on an item we had purchased last week. I did not say to our boys (loudly enough for the lady to hear) as we were walking out, "We will not spend our money where the people are rude!"

I did not forget to send my dad a card in time for Father's Day and I did not just need to leave him a voicemail instead! (We love you, Dad! Hope you had a great day yesterday!)

Girls' Weekend

This weekend was our college girls' weekend! It was so fun! We ended up being there just on Saturday, but it was a great day! The kids played, swam splashed in the swimming pool, ate, and made us laugh! It was great to see how life has changed in the last eight years since we graduated from college!!

Pokes!

Poor Jonathan! This morning he had his six-month well baby visit and he had to also get his shots! He cried, but not too much this time! I was glad he didn't do the silent-cry cry--that's hard for this mommy to endure! Our little guy is up 19 pounds, and just over 26 inches long! He's growing well and meeting all his milestones!

Jonathan started drinking water from a sippy this week! He really liked chewing on the soft spout--and he actually managed to get some water down as well!

Yesterday we took a trip to Cosley Zoo with some of the other teachers and their kids. This time Jonathan got to see the animals, since he was in the bjorn. It was a fun time and we managed to dodge the rain while we were there! The big boys loved feeing the ducks!

I did not wear my undies inside out and backwards last Thursday. It did not take me till bedtime to figure out why I was so uncomfortable all day! Who does that?? Not me! I always pay attention when I’m getting dressed!

I did not do a load of laundry that also had a diaper in there!! Jackson did not put his pull up in the washing machine along with his jammies when he got dressed this morning. The diaper did not explode in there and release a bazillion little get balls into the load. It did not take several more wash and rinse cycles to get it all out!

I did not fall asleep last week on the couch while my husband and his mom were talking. I did not wake up as she was leaving and did not miss almost the entire visit!

We did not skip church on Sunday to spend a day together at Brookfield Zoo! We did not have a totally fabulous time and feel only slightly guilty to miss church.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. It's my weekly (free) therapy! And it's so much fun! Here's what my week was like!

I did not kill the plants on our front step and my neighbor did not bring me a new plant so maybe I'd get the hint and take the dead plants away! I did not go the the store the next day and get new plants for the boys and I to plant because I was not completely embarrassed! Oh, well, that's what happens with my black thumb!

I did not get totally teary-eyed as my first-born finished his first year of pre-school on Friday! I can totally hold it together during major milestones like this!

Baby Jonathan did not have such a big blowout on Saturday that did not go all the way up his back that I did not decide to just cut the onesie he was wearing rather than attempt to wash it! (That was not the ickiest diaper to change in my 4 years of being a mom! ICK!)

I did not forget to enter my husband's school loan payment into the checkbook and we were not $200 short! Nope, not me! I'm much too careful to do something like that! OOPS! Being on a budget, that was not a pretty costly mistake on my part!

Since it's Monday, I will not be watching the Bachelorette this evening! Certainly not me! I'm much too intelligent to enjoy such mindless TV and I certainly won't need a break after a long day with my little guys! Besides, I totally don't care who Jillian ends up and totally hope it's not weird toe-guy!! :)

Now that I'll have the boys with me all summer, I'm sure we'll have more stories for next week, but that's it for now! What was your week like??

Jackson's last day of pre-school!!

Congrats, Jackson!! We are so proud of you!!

Is my baby already done with his first year of pre-school? That's crazy!! He had a wonderful year--made great friends, had terrific teachers, learned a lot! Although I was sad (maybe even a bit teary-eyed as we were leaving the school), I am totally thrilled to have him home with us this summer!
