I'm typing this entry while the four boys in my family are playing Mario Bros. It's been a fun Christmas morning so far, but I want to blog about yesterday.
Christmas Eve is my dad's birthday, and yesterday he celebrated his 60th!! Big day!! We had everyone at our house for lunch and for the birthday celebration. That morning I went to Party City and picked up 60 silver helium balloons. It was a tight squeeze to get them all to fit in the car, but they did. At home, I tied the 60 memories to the end of each string and they were floating all over the living room. After lunch, Dad had to untie each scroll and read the attached memory. The 60 memories were written by his kids and grandkids. It was a really special moment, quite emotional at times, while others were just funny! It was a fun way to celebrate Dad's 60th!

Our family's Christmas Eve tradition is to attend the evening service at our church and then come home and open stockings before bed. We went to the Candlelight Service this year, which was beautiful. Then we came home, changed into new jammies, lit a fire, opened stockings, and read the Christmas story!
