Last day of swim lessons

This is our pool! We love our pool!!
Jackson and Joshua waiting in line with their class, both were in ducks.
Walking to their lessons---the 3-foot deep pool
I've been spotted! Sitting on the edge waiting for permission to get in the pool.
Notice the wet hair---just did underwater bobs!
Thunder kicks!! Splash! Splash!
This is how Jonathan and I spend our half-hour
Jackson's report card! He graduates to tadpoles! :)
Joshua mastered most of the skills! He's going to be a duck next time as wel!
I'm so proud of my boys! They did such a great job with their swim lessons!!

A new favorite

I love baking!! I've done a lot of fun cookies, cakes, and cupcakes in the past year, but I think I have finally found a new favorite in our family. We have started calling this delicious treat, "brookies!" Can you guess what it is?? It's a cookie and a brownie in one!! You start with cookie dough on the bottom of a cupcake liner and then add a bit of brownie batter and bake. Total yumminess!!! I made a few for a friend's birthday this past week and topped them off with different frostings. One frosting was a chocolate-marshmallow frosting and the other was a chocolate-Nutella kind---both were delicious!! When I make a batch for us, we eat a couple and then AW takes the rest to his office to share with coworkers. Spread the love and keep the calories out of our house!!

Hot, hot days of summer!

We've had a really hot week!! Temps have been in the high 90s with the heat index into the 100s some days. The boys and I have stayed cool by playing in our little pool!

Swim lessons

The big boys are taking swim lessons!! Considering that their mommy doesn't know how to swim, this is a big deal! I'm so excited for them! It's an introduction to swimming class and they're together. They learned how to "scoop ice cream" and do "lightning" kicks! Super cute! They're having fun and learning to be comfortable in the water! (Parents aren't allowed near the pool, so my pictures are from a distance.)

I'm taking a trip on a train!

The boys and I took a train ride last week and had so much fun! What boy doesn't love trains? Ours certainly do!! The best part was that on the the ride back home we were able to get on the same train that daddy rides on his way home, so we managed to sruprise him! The boys sat with their daddy for the remainder of the train ride! It was so sweet!!

Father's Day 2011

Our boys love their daddy! They adore him. They wrestle with him. They read books with him. They play with him. They watch cartoons with him. They pray with him. He is a very special daddy and our boys are so blessed to have him!!! This guy---awesome daddy and husband!!
We had a pretty good weekend together, celebrating AW! We had a great dinner Friday night after we picked him up from the train station. On Saturday, we played at the park for a long time and then had a picnic Chipotle dinner. It was really nice!
On Sunday, we went to my dad's church to surprise him (although he already knew we were coming) and then we all came to our house for lunch and hanging out. It was nice to spend time together.
This was AW's first Father's Day since his dad passed away last year, so I knew it would be a tough day for him, but he was wonderful! I know he had some sad moments--he really misses his dad! Allen was a great Godly man!

First Lost Tooth

Jackson lost his first tooth a few weeks ago. It was wiggly for a long time and he ended up losing it at school---during lunch. He actually swallowed it and didn't realize it until he went to wiggle it later that afternoon and it wasn't there! He was worried the Tooth Fairy wouldn't leave him any money since there was no tooth, but he drew a picture of his tooth and there was a dollar under his pillow when he woke up! :)
