School!!

Our boys started school last week and things are going. Going well for some and rather tough for our middle child! It will take a few days (maybe weeks) to get into a good groove and to learn the routines, but I think it will be good!

Today has been a rainy day and we're stuck inside, so we decided to try a cooking project! We all had such a fun time!! I've been following an awesome website for some time (http://www.bakerella.com/) and find her stuff amazing, but my stuff never turns out the same....until now! We made these amazingly awesome creations this morning and I'm so excited how they turned out!! It's cake on the inside and then the outsides are decorated to make them look like ice cream cones! Cute, right??

They are super easy to make and the boys enjoyed decorating and eating their handiwork.

This weekend we spent some time in Wisconsin for my little brother's wedding! I still can't believe that he's married! :) It was a beautiful wedding---a wonderful event! Here are lots of pictures!!

Long hiatus!

So, it's been over two months since my last post, but I have lots of reasons why I've been gone for so long! Here are some highlights of the last couple of months:

*we sold our house
*we lived with relatives for almost four weeks
*we bought our new house
*Allen passed away, so we were in Houston for a few weeks
*my little brother got married and we were in Wisconsin for their wedding
*we've been busy making our house feel like a home
*we're crazy busy (and loving every minute of) raising three active little boys!

Every journey begins with a single step...

....even when you're training for a marathon! This past week I have officially begun my marathon training schedule. I must admit that I have already missed two days this week, so I'm not sure how this will all turn out. The first time I ran a marathon (6 years ago) we didn't have kids and I could sneak in my runs early in the morning before work or at the end of the day. This time around I'm training with 3 kids in tow!! I push our triple jogger and my husband rides his bike with us---it's a family affair! We'll see how well I train for the marathon this time around and how the 26.2 miles will actually turn out come October! I am excited about it (and toally scared and nervous)! I signed up with a dear friend, sort of on a whim, definitely impulsively, but I think it will be great!!! And hopefully it will ease the stresses of live we've been dealing with lately, but if nothing else, maybe I'll finally shed some of these unwanted extra baby pounds!! That can't hurt!!

We spent the day at the zoo with good friends! Our kids had a really great time. We saw lots of fun animals, explored new exhibits, ate lunch, walked around, you know, all the stuff you do when you go to the zoo!
